Switch to Petuler from another kennel system

What the Switch wizard imports

After you create your Petuler location, open Switch to Petuler from Getting started, Clients, Pets, or Settings. You can bring clients (including emergency and pickup contacts), pets (vaccines and feeding notes), kennel names and rates, play groups, pack credits, standing daycare weekdays, cash memberships, stay history for the last 12 months, and boarding stays in the next 90 days. You review the column mapping before anything is written.

Petuler does not log into Gingr, PetExec, or KennelBooker for you, and it does not import years of payment history or two-way SMS. Those stay in the old system or can be added later by hand.

How to export

Export owner and pet lists from your current software, then save each sheet as CSV from Excel or Google Sheets. A screenshot of a kennel board can remind you of run names, but a long client list still needs a spreadsheet. Petuler also provides empty CSV templates you can copy columns into.

If a column is labelled oddly, pick the Petuler field on the mapping step, or mark it as do not import. Unknown columns are left unmapped rather than guessed into the wrong place.

Gingr

Open reports or the owner list and export owners (clients). Export pets with vaccine dates if your plan includes that report. If you have a reservation report, export only upcoming boarding from today. In Excel or Google Sheets, download each sheet as CSV, then upload those files in Switch to Petuler.

PetExec

Export the owner and pet lists from PetExec reports, including vaccine expiry columns when the report offers them. Save each file as CSV (not the default Excel workbook if you can avoid it) and upload them in the wizard.

Kennel Connection

Export owners, pets, and runs from Kennel Connection’s list or report screens. If the file opens in Excel as .xls, save a copy as CSV UTF-8. Upcoming reservations are optional — only the next 90 days are imported.

DaySmart Pet

Export customers and pets from reports in DaySmart Pet (123Pet). Save as CSV. Boarding calendars are often a separate export — only future stays are imported.

KennelBooker

Export owner and animal lists, plus kennel or run names if you have a facilities list. Save as CSV and upload. Petuler does not connect to KennelBooker for you.
